Four Most Important Eating Healthy Tips

Eating healthy tips should be our number one priority when it comes to dieting. We want to lose weight and know how important that it is to eat healthy but often don't know where to start. Really the best solution to weight loss should be to first to change your eating habits. If you have been on nothing but a junk food diet most of your life then it is time to make a change to eating healthier. To be successful in your weight loss, then eating healthier should be your first step. If you really are serious about losing weight and keeping it off then start out by changing your eating habits.

The following are the five eating healthy tips for any successful diet:

1. Keep a journal of your calorie intake. By writing down what you are eating every day, you might discover where the hidden calories are from. Some people tend to snack and really don't realize the amount of calories that they eat. By keeping a journal, you will begin to notice a pattern and finally realize where the extra portions. Once you know exactly how much food that you are eating every day then it will help you to avoid eating those extra calories.

Keep in mind though that your body needs a certain number of calories each day in order to function as it should. If you are consuming more than your body requires then this is the reason why you are gaining weight. Then on the other hand if you are consuming less calories then your body needs everyday, then you will lose the weight. The most important eating healthy tips that are offered here would be to make sure that the calories that you do eat are balanced and nutritious so eat lots of fruits and vegetables.

2. Pay close attention to your eating habits. Everyone will slip up every once in awhile and will have cravings for those forbidden foods such as indulging in some sweet delicacy. It is certainly OK to give into your cravings occasionally but don't make a habit of doing this very often though. When you do go off the "band wagon" so to speak, make sure to keep a list of the items that you are eating. By doing this, you will be able identify those bad food choices and learn to substitute a more healthy food choice.

3. Always avoid any fried or oily foods when at all possible. Instead introduce fruits and vegetables in their raw forms to your diet plan. By eating more raw vegetables, it will help you to get rid of the extra calories that would have been eaten if you had fried them. Another eating healthy tips to consider would be to eat less red meat. For overweight people, it highly recommended that you eat leaner, skinless chicken instead of red meats. If you do feel that you are consuming way to much oil, then try cooking with a non-stick pan.

4. Whatever you do, please don't go on a crash diet. When someone goes on a crash diet to lose the weight fast, they usually gain it all back and then some whenever they go back to their old eating habits. If you really want to know the very best eating healthy tips to remember then it would be to change your eating habits. Weight loss diets do not work. To lose weight and keep it off, then it has to be a life time commitment. That doesn't mean that you can't eat your favorite foods occasionally but that you need to change the way you look at food. A healthy diet plan is all that you need to lose the weight and keep it off.

Eating healthy tips should be your number one priority. It all starts by changing your eating habits.

What is Self Mastery?

To continue with our overview of the physical component of self mastery, it goes without saying that walking is a valuable aerobic exercise - but you have options. You can use a bicycle for nice days, or use indoor aerobic exercise equipment for use on inclement weather days.

My personal favorite is the elliptical trainer. Elliptical trainers allow you to cross train - they are very low impact exercise equipment - you use upper and lower body - and they don’t cause excessive wear in your joints. Elliptical trainers provide a weight bearing workout that tones muscle, adds to bone density, and burns more calories than an exercise bike.

Some of my clients have literally shed weight away with regular use of an elliptical trainer, Yoga classes, and a moderate diet. That leads into the next aspect of physical health: your diet.

Diet has to be moderate and something you can live with. If your diet causes you to be depressed, you can’t stick with it, due to your mental health. However, that doesn’t justify a “junk food” diet.

So where do you start? Look at your diet now and make moderate adjustments. Don’t get pulled into a “fad diet” that insults your intelligence and causes rapid weight loss. Most clients gain all that weight back, and then some, after they get off the quick fix diet. Hence the nickname, “yo-yo diets”, is a suitable label.

Yoga does have diet plans, and eating in moderation is a key factor. Eating affects mental, physical, and spiritual health. Sometimes the motivation for excessive eating is not due to hunger at all. Food is used to replace an empty feeling, and eating becomes an emotional response, resulting in health problems, due to over consumption of food.

Therefore, eating should be restricted to balanced, nutritionally dense, and moderate meals. You should consider your immune system, daily nutritional requirements, and sustaining strength while consuming meals and drinks throughout the day.

Personal hygiene is another area to consider. Yoga has cleansing practices (Kriyas or Shatkarmas), that would not be entirely accepted in the West. However, suffice to say, that you should keep your orifices clean, brush your teeth and tongue, floss, drink a lot of pure water, monitor your skin, and listen to your body. A little prevention goes a long way in regard to your health.

Yoga also teaches you how to breathe fully from the bottom of the lungs. There are many Yoga breathing techniques called, “pranayama.” The best result from this practice is to get more oxygen into your blood, and proper breathing can make you feel more energetic.

The last point to bring up about your physical health is that you should be taking a daily multi-vitamin and mineral supplement. Choose one of good quality and research your choice. Choose an appropriate supplement for your age and gender.
